| Abstract : | Η παρούσα διπλωματική συνεισφέρει στη μελέτη των σύγχρονων τεχνολογιών και πρακτικών που εφαρμόζονται στις μοντέρνες αποθηκευτικές μονάδες των εταιρειών Third Party Logistics. Aποτελείται από δύο μέρη, το βιβλιογραφικό και το κομμάτι της πρακτικής άσκησης που πραγματοποιήθηκε στην εταιρεία AlfaOmega Pharma Logistics. Στο βιβλιογραφικό μέρος, μελετάται ο ορισμός των Third Party Logistics, τα κριτήρια απόφασης για τη σύναψη συνεργασίας με μια εταιρεία 3PL καθώς και τα οφέλη και οι κίνδυνοι από μια παρόμοια απόφαση. Στη συνέχεια, αναλύονται τα θεμέλια, οι στόχοι και τα βήματα πάνω στα οποία σχεδιάζονται οι σύγχρονες αποθηκευτικές εγκαταστάσεις. Έπειτα, παρουσιάζονται τα συστήματα Διαχείρισης Αποθήκης ERP και WMS, η τεχνολογία Radio Frequency-Identification (RFID), μοντέρνα συστημάτων συλλογής παραγγελιών (Pick-by-Voice, Pick-by-Light και Pick-by-Vision, τα τηλεματικά συστήματα Διαχείρισης Στόλου και οι πρακτικές Green Supply Chain Management.Για τη διερεύνηση των πλεονεκτημάτων από την εφαρμογή μιας μοντέρνας τεχνολογίας πραγματοποιήθηκε ποιοτική έρευνα, τα αποτελέσματα της οποίας παρουσιάζονται στη μελέτη περίπτωσης με θέμα την AlfaOmega Pharma Logistics και τη μετάβαση της από ένα παραδοσιακό σύστημα σε ένα σύγχρονο Warehouse Management System σε συνδυασμό με Barcode Scanning. Διεξήχθησαν τέσσερεις (4) ημιδομημένες συνεντεύξεις στο χώρο της AlfaOmega και συμμετείχαν εργαζόμενοι-experts της εταιρείας. Τα ποιοτικά δεδομένα αναλύθηκαν και έδειξαν ότι η επένδυση στο μοντέρνο σύστημα Διαχείρισης Αποθήκης αποφασίστηκε λόγω της ανάγκης για γρηγορότερη διεκπεραίωση των διεργασιών της αποθήκης εξαιτίας του αυξανόμενου όγκου εργασίας και της επιθυμίας εφαρμογής του μοντέλου κοστολόγησης Activity Based Costing (ABC). Το λογισμικό που θα κάλυπτε τις προδιαγραφές της εταιρείας εντός του διαθέσιμου προϋπολογισμού αποτέλεσαν τον καθοριστικό παράγοντα για την επιλογή του Mantis Logistics Vision Suite.Σχετικά με την ενσωμάτωση του στις λειτουργίες της εταιρείας, αρκετοί εργαζόμενοι επικρότησαν την απόφαση ενώ μια μερίδα παρουσιάστηκε επιφυλακτική λόγω της έλλειψης οικειότητας με τη νέα τεχνολογία. Η παράλληλη λειτουργία του παλαιού και του νέου συστήματος καθώς και η εκπαίδευση των εργαζομένων βοήθησε σημαντικά στην ομαλή μετάβαση και εν τέλει στη ολική αντικατάσταση του πρώτου από το δεύτερο.Τα οφέλη που κατέγραψαν οι managers σχετίζονται με τη μείωση της χρήσης χαρτιού, τη μείωση των ανθρωπίνων σφαλμάτων, την υψηλή ικανοποίηση των εργαζομένων, την εξασφάλιση της κερδοφορίας της εταιρείας με το μοντέλο ABC και το πιο σημαντικό την εξοικονόμηση χρόνου που παρατηρήθηκε στις διεργασίες της αποθήκης. Χάρη στο νέο σύστημα, η εταιρεία απέκτησε ένα σημαντικό ανταγωνιστικό πλεονέκτημα και κατάφερε να διατηρήσει υψηλά τα επίπεδα ικανοποίησης τόσο των πελατών της όσο και των εργαζομένων της. Το σύστημα συνεχώς βελτιώνεται και εξετάζεται ήδη η εφαρμογή της τεχνολογίας RFID, δεδομένου ότι διαθέτει ήδη τις υποδομές.Το δεύτερο μέρος της διπλωματικής καλύπτεται από την ανάλυσης της πρακτικής άσκησης. Αναλύεται η εταιρεία, το τμήμα στο οποίο πραγματοποιήθηκε η πρακτική άσκηση, η εκπαίδευση και τα καθήκοντα που ανατέθηκαν.
This thesis contributes to the study of modern technologies and practices applied in the modern storage units of Third Party Logistics companies. It consists of two parts, the research part the and internship held at AlfaOmega Pharma Logistics. In the research part, the definition of Third Party Logistics, the decision criteria for entering into a partnership with a 3PL company as well as the benefits and risks of such a decision are studied. Then, the foundations, the goals and the steps on which the modern storage facilities are designed are analysed. Next, ERP and WMS Warehouse Management systems, Radio Frequency-Identification (RFID) technology, modern order picking systems (Pick-by-Voice, Pick-by-Light and Pick-by-Vision), Fleet Management telematics systems and Green Supply Chain Management practices are presented.To investigate the advantages of applying a modern technology, a qualitative research was carried out, the results of which are presented in the case study on AlfaOmega Pharma Logistics and its transition from a traditional system to a modern Warehouse Management System in combination with Barcode Scanning. Four (4) semi-structured interviews were conducted in the AlfaOmega working area and employees-experts of the company participated. The qualitative data were analysed and showed that the investment in the modern Warehouse Management system was decided due to the need for faster processing of warehouse processes due to the increasing workload and the desire to implement the Activity Based Costing (ABC) model. The software that would meet the specifications of the company within the available budget was the determining factor for the selection of the Mantis Logistics Vision Suite.Regarding its integration into the companys operations, several employees welcomed the decision, while a portion was cautious due to the lack of familiarity with the new technology. The parallel operation of the old and the new system as well as the training of the employees helped significantly in the smooth transition and finally in the total replacement of the first by the second.The benefits recorded by the managers are related to the reduction of paper use, the reduction of human errors, the high satisfaction of the employees, the assurance of the company's profitability with the ABC model and most importantly the time savings observed in the warehouse processes. Thanks to the new system, the company gained a significant competitive advantage and managed to maintain high levels of satisfaction of both its customers and employees. The system is constantly being improved and the application of RFID technology is already being considered, as it already has the appropriate infrastructure.The second part of the thesis is covered by the analysis of the internship. The company is analysed, the department in which the internship took place, the training and the tasks assigned.
